Ryan proudly represents employers in both the private and public sector. Ryan represents private job creators, public schools, as well as cities, townships, road commissions, and other forms of local government. He frequently defends employers in arbitration against unions and negotiates collective bargaining agreements. He litigates cases in state and federal courts. He advises clients on employment law, labor law, civil rights law, school law, and governmental law.
He has lectured for the Michigan Public Employment Labor Relations Association, the N.M.A.R.C./A.S.M.R.C., and the Southeast Michigan Chamber of Commerce, among other groups. He has lectured on diverse topics such as the Family and Medical Leave Act, marijuana in the workplace, Americans with Disabilities Act, due process, constitutional law, hiring and selection procedures, employee discipline and discharge, and personnel files.
