Patrick McKay

Patrick McKay is a Partner at Kirk, Huth, Lange & Badalamenti, PLC. He represents commercial real estate sellers, purchasers and developers regarding their transactional and development needs. He works alongside his clients negotiating the deal, through the due diligence period, to closing and beyond. Mr. McKay serves as outside general counsel for small to medium sized businesses assisting with all of their legal issues including business formation, contracting with other businesses, suppliers, contractors or employees, and when purchasing or selling a business.

Mr. McKay graduated in 2001 from Notre Dame High School in Harper Woods, Michigan. He attended Marian University in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin and graduated (cum laude) in 2005 earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, double-majoring in Business Marketing and Management. In 2005, he was chosen “Marketing Student of the Year” by the Marian University Faculty and was a finalist for Student-Athlete of the Year and Student of the Year. While attending law school he worked as a law clerk for Kirk, Huth, Lange & Badalamenti, PLC. In 2008, he received his Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. Mr. McKay is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, and its Real Property and Business Law Sections, the Macomb County Bar Association, and has been admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. In 2017 he was selected as an Up & Coming Lawyer by Michigan Lawyers Weekly and has annually been named a Rising Star by SuperLawyers since 2013.

Mr. McKay and his wife Nicole have three sons. He enjoys coaching his sons’ hockey teams and is seated as the Legal Representative of the Board of Governors for the St. Clair Shores Hockey Association.
